About Blue's Bunny Kingdom

Blue was a Flemish Giant. My husband and I brought him home when he was about six months old, and from the day we met him he was something out of a fairytale. Gentle. Beautiful. Extraordinary. He was not a pet who lived in the corner of a room. He was part of the family.

Blue brought a kind of love and wonder into our lives we had not known before. His enormous presence, his sweetness, his complete innocence. It was impossible to be around him and not understand how remarkable rabbits are.

When Blue died we were devastated. There is not a day I do not think of him.

Out of that came a purpose. Blue made us believe that every rabbit deserves safety, kindness, freedom and love, and that far too many never get any of it. Rabbits are abandoned, neglected, misunderstood, and treated as disposable. We built this organization to change that.

Blue's Bunny Kingdom is being built to rescue rabbits, care for them, give them sanctuary, and teach people what these animals actually are: intelligent, emotional, particular, and worth the trouble. Every rabbit we go on to help will carry a piece of him forward.

Blue's story does not end with his passing. It continues in every rabbit this place will give another chance.

We publish our cost per rabbit and our reserve policy in the founding plan, and will publish our Form 990 as soon as it is filed. An organization nobody has heard of has nothing to offer except its own transparency.
